  • Every religion and their holy books have their languages. And these languages have deep impact to the names of men, places and etc. For example, a guy from Indonesia can be called Ahmed. Ahmed is Arabic word, as known. But the guy from Indonesia is not Arab.

Most of Azeris are turks, but Azerbaijan gets its name from Zoroastrianism. Don’t be nervous

  • @LalaBaku Your saying do have truth in them. Religion, books and language does have a very deep impact on names, but this was not what happened in Azerbaijan's case. The name "Azerbaijan" was left after the series of Arab and Persian invasions. This did not only affect our names, but our looks too. In the past, the caucasian Turks (Azeris) were white, mostly blond haired civilians, but after the invasions and merging with the public, many of our essence were hidden, but are present.
