uhmm diets do work. i don't exercise at all and i just now lost 7.5 kilos in 6 weeks while i was on atkins.

diets don't work, but lifestyle changes do, i cut out all the shit with high fructose corn syrup. and fast food and walk more than i do drive and in the past 2 years i've lost well over 170 pounds +
believe me if a fat piece of shit like myself can do it, you can too :D
i went from 425+ pounds to roughly 250 pounds
i believe you can do it tyko!!!
the key is don't make excuses for yourself, and follow through with your goals and and most importantly believe you can do it!! :D

As a fan, I am so happy you have decided to do this. I highly recommend a documentary called "Fat Head". It will explain why, if you want to be healthy and lose weight, you have to cut down on the carbs. So no beer. Sorry... :) Also, do weight training! A low carb diet and a good resistance training program will allow you to get the most dramatic results. Just my 2 yen. Good luck bro.

You might want to check out the 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. He has a Slow Carb Diet that lets you eat anything except things that are "white". So no bread, rice, potatoes, no brown rice, corn, etc, etc.
You can eat as much beef, fish, chicken, pork, beans, and veggies you want but no starchy foods.
Plus don`t forget to walk, cycle, swim, or whatever form of exercise you like, and do it regularly!
