@rshinsec Well, considering the fact we are just 45 million people, and that we don't have universitary leagues, sport grants and all those things you have in the US, we fare pretty well.
Also, basketball is not very popular in Spain. Soccer is completely dominant. It's not like in America, where basketball, football and baseball are all important, without one of them being the undisputed No. 1.

I'm sorry but Cycling is not a major sport, however, Contador is not the top cyclist. It's still the 39 year old Lance Armstrong. Roger Federer is probably the best tennis player ever, so no Nadal isn't the best anytime soon. Spain isn't the best in basketball as was proven. Soccer, you know what sure, I'll give you that.
You're absolutely oblivious to the truth if you sincerely believe Spain has the top athletes in all sports.
