The ingredients are KNO3/Al/S. The ratio is 5/3/2. It burns slow. Is it because the KNO3 is not fine powdered? I don't have a ball mill or any grinder just a mortar and pestle. And the Aluminium is 400mesh. Comment please.

  • thanks for that but the potassium perc. is too much expensive. i can get 2Kg of KNO3 for just 3.5 $. if i get the pot. perc. i will try the screening method.

  • Yeah the same thing happened to me, so I bought Mg and MgAl to make fast burning flash.

  • @cherrybommb were r you buying from? cuase i can get a pound of Potassium Perchlorate for 8.50$

  • uhmmm, all that did was fizz. where's the flash? get rid of the pot.nitrate and use perc. or chlorate then screen it thru a 40mesh 2x then thru a 60mesh 1x stainless or brass wire cloth screen...when you get all the chem's...you can use almost any heavy wall paper tube any length you want. try mixing 65/25/10 perc./al/s (or) 65/30/5 Dont ball mill it or grind it,just screen it. you'll need to think of away to cap the ends.
