Very First Rapid Surfer with the Bethel Brothers

There was a record release of water in the Sacramento California area, around 8,000 gallons per socond. Joe and Dan Bethel had to belly crawl their surf boards past the park rangers, and emergency personel, to be the first in Sacramento to ride the water. Interviews from emercency people on the trail, and people that made it to the beaches at Arden Park. This was near the begining of summer, and the water district wanted to make room in local lakes for for new run off. The water officials feared drownings from the cold water and heavy flow, and asked people not to go near the banks of the American River. Time period, around June 2000-2001
