Mustang Stallions & "La Primera"

A re-do of Mustang Stallions video made in January, 2011 with my pocket camera. Two mustang stallions jousting on their winter range on the Owyhee Front, Owyhee County, Idaho. They sparred for several minutes before the herd stallion came out and ran them away. We watched the stallion that ran up to the herd, running for about a mile before arriving at the herd. He has a patch of white foam on one shoulder and between his hind legs. Music: "La Primera" by Ian Tyson.

It is unusual to get an opportunity to photograph them doing something besides eating, leaving, or looking at you. The lighting and weather was bad, but they put on a show.

The older stallion that came trotting up is the same one that is in my "Roll on Owyhee Mustangs" video. He managed to get him a couple of mares. We saw him on 10-25-11 with the same two mares and yearling. He also had another stallion hanging around keeping a respectful distance from his mares.
