Balloon Boy story a hoax

A mylar helium balloon escapes into the Colorado sky and a nation stops to watch. Early reports indicate a 6 year old boy could be inside the run-a-way balloon. Crews on the ground and helicopters in the sky track the balloon. When it finally comes to Earth, the boy is nowhere to be found. Did he fall out? Did he ever get in? Hours later he turns up in his dad's attic, alive and well. Now the questions are swirling; is this a hoax? should the family pay for the rescue efforts.
