Gold Rush! DOS Intro (Classic Sierra Adventure)

"Gold Rush!" Intro, a classic sierra adventure (1989).

Great sound and animations, don't you think? ;)

If you wonder why the first screen reads "and Sierra", I think it's because I had to use a cracked version (passwords removed) and
apparently this removed the names of the other developers beside Sierra (MacNeill Bros.) which should be shown first. Sorry about that!

Great game, except for those typical sierra deaths. You die every 5 seconds in these game :(

Even worse: It's possible to die hours later after missing to pick up / buy a critical item like fruits when you take one (or both?) of the ship route.

Sierra had the best games back then, i actually did a book report on this game in 7th grade.

I love all the ways you could die in a sierra game! Especially at the game start up! Fourth panel I thought he was intoxicated I didn't see the lightpost...

They probably did drugs whey they made this game. Anyway, I decided to start the game again, just to use a walkthrough and finish it. But i've got a slight problem, the timer is stuck. I've played for about 30 minutes, but the timer shows that i've played only 5 seconds LOL. Takes a while to sell my house with that pace. You know what's wrong? This game was probably not made for a pentium 4 :D

Maybe I need to change graphic card? You think the newest Nvidia GeForce should be good enough?

I LOVED this game when I was a kid! I got it as a gift when I was 7 years old back in 1992 and it realy got me hooked on the adventure game genre (back in the good old days when they made adventure games). I especially loved Gold Rush for its historical realism. Nice to see it again on youtube.
