FZW was a disciple of Yang Cheng Fu. If you watch this vid closely you can pick out the Still Shots of YCF from his early book.... This is probably the closest you'll ever see to what the last of the Qing Dynasty masters moved like.

  • It's a shame that the vid quality of Yang Zhenji is so poor, as he was taught by Cheng Fu and is probably closest along with Fu Zhongwen. BK Franzis recounts in his book that Zhenji had "magnetic" hands.

  • I have met people with that skill. It's rare, and a bit scarey.

  • i love this. He plays tai chi like he dont give A FUCK. doesnt try.. looks like hes having fun, but in control of the chi at the same time.

  • Yang Zhenduo was only 9 when his father died... so you are saying he mastered Yang Family Taiji by then?? Fu was the senior student when Chengfu died, its obvious who taught who, theres nothing more to say about that.. as for all these other famous teachers, so what, they dont teach Yang Family taiji, never did.. get it together..

  • Not true. His son Fu Yong Hui also studied with him. His son was actually surrounded by amazing masters and was able to learn the Wudang Sword from Li Jing-Lin; Baji Quan from Li Shu-Wen, Yang Style Taiji Quan from Yang Chenfu, and Xingyi Quan from Sun Lutang.

  • Fu Zhongwen taught Yang Zhenduo not his father who died when he was 9yrs. Fu Zhongwen was Yang Chengfus last tuti.

  • yeah, but apparently yang chengfu chose fu zhongwen as his successor!

  • According to Yang Zhenduo's bio, "In 1961, when he gave a performance at the Shanghai Palace of Physical Culture, wushu experts from Hangzhou, Changzhou, Suzhou and Wuxi flocked there to watch and learn from him. Some took along with them the books containing photos of his father doing the taijiquan exercises so as to make comparison. They all came to the conlusion that his movements were almost exactly the same as his father's."

  • If you want to see what Yang Cheng Fu must have looked like doing the Tai Chi form, take a look at the Yang Zhenduo clips on YouTube. He's the 3rd son of Yang Cheng Fu. His form looks very much like his father's still shots.
