  • Ok, here's the thing. You're 100% right that the show is wildly inaccurate, but the same can probably be said for Grey's Anatomy or Law & Order or other profession-based TV shows. Strictly looking at it objectively as a TV show, it was entertaining and really well done.

Also, re: the harmonies, that's part of the suspended disbelief of music theater, y'know? That moment could totally happen on stage and you would buy it.

  • @samiam1432 We agree! After talking about how unrealistic it all is, we said we were entertained in spite of that. As for the harmonies, it's just something I (Patty) find hilarious to think about.

  • Where did you see the pilot at? I know NBC is doing something 'unusual' with releasing the pilot before it airs. Any links, please? Thanks!!

  • @gabegoodman09 We went to a screening, but it's currently available as a free iTunes and Amazon download.

  • Would Laura Osnes be a fresh face example landing a B-way lead role? I know her case was non-traditional (i.e. casted on a reality TV show), but she's the first that comes to mind.

  • It is just a TV show. I hope NO ONE thinks it is real life. I hope NO ONE thinks any TV show is real life. Suspend disbelief, it is a fun show and neat way to feel connected to the Broadway process (even if it is unrealistic).

  • The thing is, its a TV Show. No TV show is completely factual and literal. I think they're doing a great job though. Same thing with them harmonizing in their auditions....its a TV Show, and they're doing that for the entertainment of the show. Not trying to make you think one sang the melody in their audition and the other sang the harmony.

  • LMAO. First, I love your Stephanie J Block reference. I am still personally pissed about it (her not getting wicked) lol. Also, the harmony, like I was thinking the same thing lol. But it sounded good. And, while your talking about Funny Girl, I still think Stephanie J Block should have been cast I don't care how old she is. She is perfect for the role. Finally, I love you guys!

  • THANK YOU! I think all I've been saying since I saw the pilot was "Stephanie J Block!". Glad I'm not alone.

  • @PattyandEmily @tmlupone Thank you very much! Will look for it! Great job as always!
