April 25, 2009, it was a beautiful day in Charleston, South Carolina, hot but gorgeous as my brother set's the watch for the newest Arleigh Burke class destroyer the USS Truxtun DDG 103. If you want to know what setting the watch means, well my brother is the Navigation Officer on the ship, and being the navigation officer, in the case he got there's supposed to be an old telescope. So setting the watch is just getting the navigational tools ready, I think. The guy handing the telescope to my brother was the previous watchmen on the previous Truxtun, this Truxtun DDG 103 is the 6th ship to bare the name Truxtun.
woohoo!!!
