Yes, it was not just a song of making reggae, it is a song of 1) self assertment, 2) highlighting the aptitudes of the black artists (blacks in general). It sounds like blowing one's trumpet but it is a way of inicating that he too is a good artiost, inspite of his colour and skin. Remember the song "Society Party": the personalities cited there are a clus to the politics of the time: remember that Reaggan and China were not very good friends.

This was the song myself and my younger Brother use to LOVE when we were kids in the 80's and my Mum use to play his Album LP at home!:)
We would always beg her to play this track cause we liked to dance to it! :)
I'm 31 now, brings back great memories!
