When he recorded this he was in the UK at the time and had gathered up some of UKs finest musicians including Terry Smith on guitar, Dick Morrissey on tenor sax and John Marshall on drums, and who would later make up his backing band for the following two albums.

The name of the "put together " band of Fine musicians in the UK was called "The Greatest Little Soul Band in the Land" and the recorded with J.J. a string of charted hits in the 60's

Im posting video because there were some musicians that were left UNCREDITED in the "Greatest Soul Band in the Land"

He is not British, he is from the US and had gone overseas during his military days and played lots of venues out in the UK.

He has often told me that when He joined the band most of them were in it NOT for the money but just for the enjoyment of making music and recording. Most of the other musicians were not credited and didnt get paid for the Album that spun the #22 hit "But Its Alright"

Robert Mayo Jr. Currently resides in Virginia and is still an active Bassist in his church and still does local venues in his area.

He was invited to play at the inauguration of Barrack Obama last year in Paris, France along with myself (his niece) and other musicians which fell through at the last minute.
