April 18, 2011 2:09pm -- A Hatzolah EMS volunteer receives two tickets for responding to an emergency. Update: the volunteer received 6 more tickets in the mail from the same officer, bringing the total to 8 tickets!

Passaic Police Officer Nieves originally pulled over the volunteer to issue a ticket for illegal lights and sirens. When shown that they were legal and properly used (as he admits in the video) he issued a ticket for running a red light (untrue) and careless driving (also untrue).

Officer Nieves was originally being much nastier, but toned it down when he saw the volunteer videoing, as he acknowledges in the beginning of the video.

Officer Nieves admitted that he did not witness the alleged violations, but claimed he was issuing the tickets at the request of another officer who did not show up.

The volunteers requested that a supervisor respond, but the officer claimed that there was not a single supervisor available in the entire city of Passaic.

The volunteer had been first-responding to a medical emergency in a properly certified emergency first-response vehicle fully-equipped with a trauma kit, defibrillator, oxygen, suction unit, etc.

  • haha. that officer is going to get his ass handed to him in court...

  • dude that's crazy! I can't believe a cop would honestly do that. But even if you had a siren your allowed to go through traffic lights after stopping to make sure it's safe that's part of having a siren (code3). AMAZING how cops are acting to volunteers.

  • Stupid Cop... He was driving with lights and sirens so technically he is just like a cop driving with lights & sirens. So, that is just stupid.

  • They deserve it, only saving jewish people, its not right

  • this is why more and more people hate cops.....wait til the emergency is at his house, I hope everyone takes their sweet time getting there

  • @emlee0203 They had red lights and sirens, as their vehicle is equipped as a first response unit... they did not have blue lights on.

  • u stupid anti semetic cops drop dead

  • MTV Jersey shore emergency edition

  • bullshit...here where i live ITS THE LAW. Ur concern doesnt count.FUCK ALL OF YALL FOR LAUGHING AT THIS AND LAUGHING AT VOLUNTEER FIREMAN RESPOONDING IN POVS. u sorry bitches, yall are fucked up. I would also watch ur reply to this WORD for word precisely. BC u dont know the individual posting this. It might make u look bad.

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard Oh...well, that would certainly explain a lot! lol

  • Most states have laws stating that as long as you're driving in a safe manner, or with due regard toward other traffic, you can not be cited. What really pisses me off about this situation is that you were driving a "properly certified emergency first-response vehicle fully-equipped with a trauma kit, defibrillator, oxygen, suction unit, etc." and he still stopped you for actions done in front of another officer! BS
