In Issue #8 we're talking about the original video game vixen Samus and her 25th birthday. Though what's with Nintendo doing jack squat to commemorate one of their biggest franchises, Metroid? Then the main event is the terrible plague of video game sequelitis! Are video game developers and publishers more keen on a guaranteed hit by pumping out sequel after sequel? Have sequels become excessive in the video game industry? Will this be the death of creativity and originality? How many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?! These questions and more answered live on Boomzies!

  • I swear that I am coming to a Boomzies issue someday. I've missed every single one because every time I think that I don't have anything to do and that I'm going to definitely going to watch Boomzies that night, I always end up with something going on. Most of the time, it's that my friends want to hang out and I can't just say no for Boomzies. I swear that if I ever go to a Boomzies, I'm calling. That is, if the topic is something I have something I can say, which, so far, has been all of these

  • @Ryanmiller70 It's alright, both Landon and I forgive you for your sins. ^_^

  • Demon's Souls is one of the greatest RPGs evar man! Why you hatin.

  • @HyperBitHero Oh my good friend it's a long story. One far too long to explain here. Just know my reasonings are good and full of truth and justice.

  • That topic you brought up at 1:01:38 reminds me of how everyone feels towards Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Before a game even comes out, everyone automatically says that it can't be as great as OoT. I've seen people say that about Skyward Sword since the first trailer was shown. Me personally, I've never played OoT, so I can't say, but I love all the LoZ games and find each of them as great as each other. The only one I don't like is Majora's Mask.

  • I've only played one Metroid game and that was the first Metroid Prime game for the Gamecube and I LOVED it. It was just an amazing game.

  • I like sequels, but only if they're done right. I don't mind if the sequel has nothing at all to do with the first game, like Red Steel 2 were the only resemblance was the sword-play and shooting. As long as a sequel is done right, that's all I care about. Some sequels that I thought were bad were Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Guitar Hero 5, all the Call of Duty games after 3 for PS2, and pretty much any movie game sequel. We need some originality in gaming, but I highly doubt that it'll happen.

  • I actually can't wait for someone to call you during the show and have the wrong number. That would be hilarious.

  • @SPac316 I remember when Nintendo made SMB 2 and Zelda II with different gameplay concepts and they were good.

  • @SPac316 Yeah, not all sequels aren't bad but it just feels like they don't change to much. Hardly play Call of Duty because they're to hard to keep up with.

    Sorry for all these comments.
