Grave e Grandioso

A composition I wrote a while back. My first complete work, I suppose. It was originally written with another cello, another violin, and a bass in mind, but oh well.

I want to thank this group so much for putting up with me and the "last-minuteness" of everything. You're all wonderful players to work with!

This was performed for Edward Albee on the night he received his Creativity Award from the Academy.

Fun Fact: I had Ellen (the cello player) tune all of her strings down half a step so she could play the low Bb I needed. Then I transposed all of the music accordingly. And she still played the 5/4 solo so well!!
