  • Man i would love to do this some day. I plan on getting a .300 rum in a 700 sendero or a savage 111 long range hunter in 7 mag. How do you like that .264 i have read alot about it. I will be using berger VLD's also for the 7 mag or .300 rum. I currently use the 95 gr. VLD in .243 with great performance out of my target rifle. I have shot whitetail deer at 300 and 450 yrds with no problem, either a dirt nap or a 30 yrd dash with a ass over applecarts lol.

  • I love my 264 but to be honest i built a 338 edge and loved that as well but the rifle i keep going back to no matter what im hunting is my is .243 win. I had it built by hazer at bison barrels and no matter what i load up in that thing it will shoot .7 to .5 in. groups at 200 yards. I love my 243 and would trust it on game up to elk at 800 yards no questions asked. Plus NO RECOIL and cheap to shoot and have fun.

  • @zsteinle I have a ruger mark 2 heavy target in .243. I am amazed at the accuracy of the rifle for a factory out of the box target rifle. I have a bushnelle elite scope on it for now, but would like to upgrade to a vortex razor hd scope for it. It loves hornady nosler and berger bullets. Mild recoil helps with pinpointing your shots

  • once again i have Nightforce on all my rifles but my .243 they are amazing scopes but they are not needed to make a long range shooter. I have made a lot of fools out of their custom rifles and 2k scopes and my $500 set up will simply make fools of them! Find a rile you like to shoot that works for you and shoot it. I am going to put up a video soon on how you DONT need $2000 scopes to shoot long range! It will be up soon. @Velocity4000fps

  • @Velocity4000fps 264 win mag is a pretty cool round. once of my favorites. recoil is light fast and flat but is a barrel burner. Just tore my 264 apart to be made into a 7 mag. dang near as flat more energy and better on barrels. I think if you want a 264 caliber i would go with a 6.5x284. Very efficient little case, dang near as fast as the 264 win mag but with a lot less powder.

  • @zsteinle I have looked at a hawk optics 5-20-50 long range scope for under $500. It will be a option if i cant spend $900 on the vortex for the 7 mag or .300. But i must say the bushnelle elite on my .243 has been a good scope for the money . It holds and returns to zero everytime. Oh and nice shooting!!

  • You are right, I was aiming for the front shoulders but the wind was coming slightly from my left and pushed the bullet into his neck. The bullet entered about an inch in front of his shoulders and exited at about the same point. Dead On Impact.

  • Ye old 2 6 4 Winnie, glad it never got popular, then everybody would have one.
