My Star Trek Birthday

My family and friends love to plan surprise "theme parties" based on something that happened in that person's life. When I was a kid, I watched a lot of Star Trek and they never let me forget it!! So for my 50th birthday They had Star Fleet uniforms made from the original patterns, control panels, Captain's chair and star screen. My cake was the Enterprise!!!

Two thoughts ran though my mind as they shouted surprise!!

1) My family and friends love me!!

2) Damn, I'll never get a date this way...

One of my presents was the CD of William Shatner singing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "Mr. Tamborine Man"

My invitation read:

To all Federation Cadets and Officers, You are cordially invited to a SURPRISE 50th Birthday party for one of the Federations most celebrated Citizens
Galaxy/Planet of Party Location: TBA
Star Date and Time: November 24, 2007 -- at about 7:00 PM. Please indicate number of shirts, colors and sizes.

Note: As this is a Federation Ceremony you are requested to wear your uniforms for this event. Be sure to specify your area of specialty in the fleet: Engineering (Red Shirt like Scotty), Medical staff and Officers (Blue Shirt like Spock and McCoy) or Navigation and Flight Control (Orange Shirt like Chekov and Sulu). Be sure to wear your official black slacks and black boots or shoes. Very young cadets are also invited and will receive shirts. Please Note: Women cadets have the option of wearing very - very short skirts with black stockings and boots. Vulcan's, Klingon's, Kahn (The Superior Intellect), Harry Mudd and tribbles are also invited (No Phasers Please). If you wish you may bring Vulcan Appetizers, Romulan Ale, or a Klingon Desert Delicacy. "Live Long and Prosper"
