I rode a bus like that to school for a while when I was in elementary school. I didn't (and still don't) know what kind of engine it had, but I do know by the sound that it wasn't a Cummins 5.9 and it wasn't a Detroit 8.2TA (but it may have been the naturally-aspirated version of that engine).

I didn't like it as much as the International Thomas Vista I normally rode. It was bus number 116. That bus sounded great.

Its a Thomas Ford! Looks to be between 1989-1993 model year. I think its a 93 but could be wrong.

@ns9987 The 6.6L is based off of the 7.8L. And the 5.9L cummins wasn't used until the 90s. The only diesel offered in the 80s until 88 or 89 was the 8.2L GM fuel pincher V8 Detroit. It's definitely a possibility that this grille has been replaced.
