2001 Saab 9-5 2.3t Engine Noise FIXED

Happens between 1500 and 2500 rpms under low load. UPDATE: Noise and pulse in clutch disappeared after I had a new clutch installed (with new slave cylinder and engine mounts)!!!

Just got the 9-5 back from a clutch job today (car has 109k). Also had new slave cylinder and new engine mounts installed. Sound seems to have disappeared. I'm guessing it was the clutch making the pulse/sound.

Car now has 106,200 miles on it...still making the same noise. I checked cylinder compression and all were good and very close to each other. I also checked out the turbo and it has no play and no oil in the lines.

I dropped my sump and all of the bearings looked fine...maybe a bearing on the belt? It seems to be coming from that side.

Are parts expensive for Saabs? How is long term reliability?

Hi, man, your problem sounds to me like mine. - I also have this thumping knock. Under load after cold start especially. Could you take a look? Its in my videos. I have an auto tranmission though. Glad that you've resolved your problem.

i have this problem too. i think it is crankshaft bearings
