Happens between 1500 and 2500 rpms under low load. UPDATE: Noise and pulse in clutch disappeared after I had a new clutch installed (with new slave cylinder and engine mounts)!!!

  • Just got the 9-5 back from a clutch job today (car has 109k). Also had new slave cylinder and new engine mounts installed. Sound seems to have disappeared. I'm guessing it was the clutch making the pulse/sound.

  • Car now has 106,200 miles on it...still making the same noise. I checked cylinder compression and all were good and very close to each other. I also checked out the turbo and it has no play and no oil in the lines.

  • I dropped my sump and all of the bearings looked fine...maybe a bearing on the belt? It seems to be coming from that side.

  • Are parts expensive for Saabs? How is long term reliability?

  • Hi, man, your problem sounds to me like mine. - I also have this thumping knock. Under load after cold start especially. Could you take a look? Its in my videos. I have an auto tranmission though. Glad that you've resolved your problem.
