This is part one to my repair on my ryobi cs30 30cc 1hp 2 cycle trimmer. The motor runs great on this thing but, my shaft has recently quit working cause the cable was rounded off at the end due to not having the piece needed for the clutch that goes around the shaft cable and clutch drum shaft. My ryobi is 5 years old, so you see i take good care of things, except when i broke the plastic handle i forgot to include the needed clutch piece which in return after a year stripped the drive cable. Sorry for the camera moving around alot, i am still using my lg shine, sometime i will get a nicer camera so the video is alot clearer. Im using parts from a ss30 ryobi trimmer, they are interchangable. Now just watch the video and also be sure to watch part 2 as this is part one.
with ur ryobi. when u pulled the shaft apart. in the midle. was there a case ball bering in there? as my head was not spining to its full speed. so I took it apart. and 3 steel balls came out. and a bit of soft platic?

@4gotten1s well i didn't ever have to mess with the cutting head on my unit but i do know there is a ball bearing cage as you would say at the head of the shaft, now idk if you can get the ball bearing by itself but sometimes you may just have to get a whole new shaft but the good thing the parts are cheap for these things, like i save some money using used parts but new parts were deff. not over 50 bucks at all
