This is a model steam engine I made at my local high school from when I was 14 to 16. The castings and design are from Stuart Turner Models. I made it during lunchtimes and after school and was taught the engineering skills demanded by a guy called Reg Wilson. Reg as a semi retirement job, looked after the school workshops. Prior to this he had worked all his life in engineering in Leeds. He took me under his wing, so to speak, and I was incredibly privileged to have this time and opportunity to learn from a master craftsman some of the skills picked up over a lifetime in engineering. The engine, now 32 years old, still works. This video is a telecine version of a super 8 film I took of the engine running on my kitchen table in 2010. Nizo 801 Macro camera using Kodak Tri-X film.
