is there a preference between skirt and pants, if the skirt is long enough and the pants are loose enough?

The pants show the form of your legs, tha skirt, generally, does not. The clothes must not only cover the skin, but mask the form of the body too. If the pants are loose, they still have to be covered down to the knees, the very least. But Allah knows best.

it can be a skirt, as long as the top part, the blouse is not short and so the skirt underlines the waist... the idea is that the abaya was what the muslim women weared during the time of the Prophet.

i understand modesty. but it looks to me that one will not enter ito paradise unless they wear the hijab? what about the heart? if the heart is right with God then he will work his way from the inside out... u can look as modest as u want but if ur heart isn't right it makes no sense...

@kekilicious11 Amen! The heart, the heart, the heart! I am Muslim (new convert) and I have been struggling immensely with the way Muslims dress. I keep thinking to myself I can wear all this but what does God want/require most of me? My heart? The modest dress should reflect what's going on inside, when a woman submits to God she wants to guard herself because of Him. No rules on what she is suppose to be wearing or what its suppose to look like. Only God knows whats best, I pray He guides me...

And, just because a man may fall in love with any woman's modesty that does not mean that he necessarily will ALSO love any other part(s) of her. So, if a man falls in love with a woman's wearing of hijab that does not mean that he will or does ALSO love any other aspect(s) of her. Nor does it mean that he does or will love HER (not just her wearing of hijab).

After all, just because any man might begin by FIRST loving a woman's face and/or body part (or any of her parts) that does not mean he may not - as he comes to know more about her - come to ALSO love her heart, her mind, etc., regardless of whichever of her aspects he had come to love FIRST.

If he does not ALSO love her body, then he does not love her - he just loves part of her.

It seems to me that the man who loves me is that one who has fallen in love with ALL parts of me - including BOTH my heart AND ALSO my body, regardless of whichever of those parts (or of whatever other part) of me he fell in love with first.

To be honest with you, I support modesty. Today so many girls and women are taught at a young age that slutty is sexy. Many men are taught that loose women are ok and modest women or women with pride are prudes. These girls wonder why theyre unhappy. They dress to please men who are only out for sex. Men who fall in love with a modest girl,falls in love with her for her heart not body. Hold your head up high ladies for one man will always love ya. Allah (God) :D

omg we have so many girls on my school who wear it in the wrong way with much makeup and tiny skirts and super high heels .. i just don't get them ...
