Japan announced it has picked Lockheed Martin F-35 fighters to replace aging jets in its air force. The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo says the contract could bring 10,000 jobs to the United States. (Dec. 20)
@YumeWire No they are most likely going to borrow the tech from the Lightning II and put it in their ATD-X because they are having a tough time with developing it...
Wise move by Japanese. Selection of the F-35 paves the way for establishment of a regional security net based on the plane's advanced avionics and stealth. America's allies and partners who plan to operate F-35s understand the force multiplier concept, a unique and powerful capability that the aircraft brings to the battlespace
It's funny to see so many people bicker about this jet being "shit" or "better than anything in the entire world". I doubt that less than 1% of you have even sat in a fighter jet yet have such strong opinions based on.... what? the bs you hear on the news, or random ranting on youtube?
@ATMirror Im pretty sure he has but it does not compare to the Raptor save for one category affordability. Meaning more can be made. HOWEVER as we have learned from the 1st Iraq War and the last stand of the 300 spartans numbers alone do not win wars. ):-(
Russia's jets are old as shit... any of their "new ones" have been cancelled because they're terrible. China's J-20 is a solid aircraft, but its just unveiled and its got a long way to go.. The F-22 is about ready to go and the F-35 is getting there... Both of which are STEALTH fighters (Su-35 isn't) and the best in the entire world.. America dominated the world.. but as soon as it has F-22's on its decks... no country stands a chance...
