Here's a good rule of thumb:

V5 monohulls = 9 knots upwind; 14 knots downwind

AC45s = 16 knots upwind; 30 knots downwind

AC72s = standby!

it is neat to see the fast action... but the scenes are again too too too short!! and I hate the ones that are cut off to quick..does the boat go over or recover.. I want to know!..

OK maybe the next release will cater to non gamers with sub second attention spans. I know the cats are faster,... I am not the only one that thinks the scenes are to quick. Just perhaps the only one telling you...Thanks other wise.!

Thanks.. I have been pushing them to correct this problem all along.

I think the editors are young gamers and do not understand continuity in telling a story. The boats show the fast action and flashing between scenes is distracting from the message.

I can hardly wait for SF Bay, my home, but I hope SF doesn't make it difficult or too expensive for the general public to go watch and enjoy this great event. It was a fabulous setup in San Diego where I went to see it live. San Diego was open and accessible. You could watch it for free from the piers or at a very reasonable cost for viewing from bleachers. Boats could be viewed up close & you could even exchange a hello crew. Information was educational & the entertainment was great too!

I get asked by non sailors all the time is high much faster are todays cats compared to the old monohulls. Maybe one day you guys should have a cat sail by an old AC boat to show the difference between the last cup and the new ones!!
