I love it, this is classic quiet storm, like the kind I grew up with and believe it or not they still play this kind of music now, the quiet storm brings alot of classics too! I love R&B from the 80's, it's not doo wop, but so what? Rentatrip is entitled to his opinion but I'm tempted to say the only thing empty here is his head.. lol. And what does he mean by 'studio masterbation'? Sounds HOT!! I want a record like that!! LMFAO!!
I got what he was trying to get at.. Early 80s productions had an emptyness to them. In my opinion it's not a knock against the record or at Cecil's masterful performance. It was just the techniques and equipment used at the time. You know what I mean with the 80s stuff.
don't get me wrong - It does belong among your rare collection for sure - You have a wondeerful data base for anyone in Hollywood who wants to find - 50's & 60's Doo Wap for a movie sound track - Great stuff -
I've actually thought about being a music consultant for the media companies but haven't been able to figure out how to break in. It's not just about having a lot of music.. You've got to know what it is that you have and what can be done with it. That I have. Now if I could just break in
It was a late recording (1984).. It has a bit of that 80's emptiness, but I like the tune. I think people into the 70's high tenor leads will enjoy this
