My iTouch is Smoking!!!

lol, thats the lithium ion reaching a boiling point and evaporating. If you ever replace your ipods battery cut open the old battery pack and get a wiff of that Lithium. Terrible stinky stuff, I can only imagine what that smoke smelled like

They didn't ask, I just told them that the battery overheated, (which it did). And they replaced it, they said it happened a few other times before. Which it did, so i got it fixed... then i los tit about a month or 3 later

Nothing!!! I got it replaced because I didn't cause the problem... Plus when I got it it came with the update :)

DUDE you could die from them fumes XD i think lol and you need more than a battery you need a new ipod lol mine dsnt sustain battery life so im getten a new battery and a new digitilizer cuz ma screen is broken lol

THAT's THE WORST THING TO DO! BLOWING ON TO A VENTING Li-ion or more dagerously Li-Po) battery will cause it to burn more quickly thus the risk of fire is much, much GREATER!!!! Eigther Pulling or forcing air on it, it doesn't matter, your putting more danger into trying to stop it smoking. The best thing to do is to isolate it from any sorce of oxygen, including the air.'
