I'm very glad that you see it that way as well. The late 19th and 20th century saw some of the strongest attempts by the West to argue a scientific foundation for their aesthetic ideals. All of them were abject failures.

And you are very wise.
I believe the writer, or writers, are emphasizing in a very basic textbook sort of way, improperly, in order to extrapolate, or assume, an integrity to the principle of 'The Golden Proportion' explanation.

The beauty and balance of nature and really...how all things...relate to each other in the divine design..there one can find the logic of balance and rythm and rhyme of greater things to be seen!
