The Cannanes, "Not Quite Right", Betsey Trotwood, London 2.7.10

I should have known I'd feel quite emotional seeing the Cannanes again. I've not really been a big fan of them, never giving them the attention they probably deserve. But I hold fond memories of them because of the role they played at NYC Popfest 2 years ago. June 2008 they were the last band to play at the Popfest. It was a glorious Sunday evening. The Cannanes were marvelous, bringing a group of audience members onstage at the end and everyone was feeling joyful but sad at the end of this amazing time. They played 'Vivienne' and my insides were full of tears. Then I went outside and spent the last few hours with dear friends old and new, some of whom would play integral roles in my life as the time went on.

This is why The Cannanes mean a lot to me and I'm so happy to have seen them again so soon.
