Tasty reference of the O'Jays "For the Love of Money" by the bassist in his solo. That was tight !

Holy. Shit. This is one of those times when the audience didn't pay NEAR enough for what they got.

This is what youtube is for. Dont ever let this die out. Plz youtube staff.
The world would be in a state of sadness and mourning then.
Damn Washington is hot!!

The sax melted after that solo!

I remember recording this on VHS and playing it to all my friends. Legendary. The Mona Lisa of Sax solos!!!!

Thumbs up! for you Grover Jr what amazing performance. We miss you and the band musicians that played w/ you on this last tone Let it Flow especially on the keyboards.

Grover tore it up! Then he tried to stop and relax, but he couldn't hold out. So he tore it up again!

@vegandragon - You are absolutely right, the 70's as well! This video was part of a sampling of acts from this particular jazz fest. I recorded GWJ and also a killer performance from 7-piece act with Jon Faddis, Tom Harrell, Bobby Watson, Lew Tabackin, Mulgrew Miller, Carl Allen, and David Williams. I can upload that performance if anyone is interested.

@vegandragon Hi Vegandragon. Sorry.. I wish I had more content! I only had another performance during that same Jacksonville Jazz Fest. See my "channel". Wow, if you have access to GWJ's daughter, please tell her what an impact his music has made on me. I grew up learning piano but switched over to Alto Sax to play in a marching band (prerequisite for the Jazz band of course). This was one of the tunes I learned to play. Wow what an inspiration..
