We ran into a student studying to be a preacher while we were in the Depot District. We asked him, "what is the Gospel?".
How about you? If you were confronted with that question how would you answer?

WaH.. Living as a christian must be hard for u guys right. To have a angry God watching at you all the time. And if u want to be close to HIM u better wash yrself very clean. Yes grace is being in submission to his will.Which means we completely trust in him that he will be eternally graceful not of what we do but of his gift to us.

Yes, I agree, hateful punisher is not the God of the Bible. When we sin we separate ourselves from Him- this way we punish ourselves. Because of the fallen nature of our human condition we have to repent almost everyday to stay close to Him. I don't want to do my will, I want to do His will.
I read somewhere that when Jesus said "repent and believe in the gospel" it was continuous time used for the verb "repent" which means- repent constantly from now on, live in submission.

Well repentance is a change of heart.Meaning viewing God as eternally graceful wrather someone who is counting up your sins so that he can punish you.Those who dont repent condemn themselves pretty much like Jesus said to the jews.

i think, more precisely the GOSPEL, gr.EUANGELION is the term used by Roman cesar to announce the good news for submitted citizens and the bad news to rebels. In this sense EUANGELION is an ANNOUNCEMENT or ULTIMATUM containing good news for repenting sinners and very bad news for ones who are not willing to repent.

As stated in the bible,the gospel is the forgiveness of sins through Christ Jesus.The gospel is the word of God which removes condemnation and wrath and brings unto us grace and mercy.The Gospel is the Good news to the world,through him is eternal life.
