TMTV News CRESTON, B.C. — A search is under way for a helicopter that crashed into a river in the East Kootenay region of southern B.C.
According to Victoria Search and Rescue, the helicopter went down in Kootenay River close to Duck Lake, north of Creston, about 700 kilometres east of Vancouver.
No survivors have yet been found.
A dive team has been dispatched from the nearby community of Nelson to help with the search.
Meanwhile, RCMP and search and rescue personnel are conducting a ground search. A Buffalo fixed-wing aircraft is also en route.
A farmer living nearby said the search started about 5:30 p.m. local time.
