Judas Death

Filmed primarily in Avdat,the Dead Sea and the Bell Caverns in Israel, Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1973, Oscar-nominated film adaptation of the rock opera of the same name, based on the conflict between Judas and Jesus in the last weeks before the crucifixion of Jesus. The film was directed by Norman Jewison. Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson were nominated for two 1974 Golden Globe Award for their portrayals of Jesus and Judas, respectively.

Though it attracted criticism from some religious groups, the film was generally well received.

@BlackPreacherBoy Do your damn research before you say something so stupid. That's how Judas died in the Bible, he hanged himself. Carl Anderson happened to be Black, but he also is the LEAD character in the opera- this can't be THAT racist if he's the lead talent.

Also, There's plenty of different races represented in this film. Simon is also Black, as are many of the villagers and a couple of the Apostles. The lady who plays Mary Magdalene is Asian.

Talent is equal-opportunity. Ass.

@Tyronebamf no opera is a style of theatre, this is a ROCK Opera, not opera or a musical, and there are plays, musicals, books and Rock Operas : about Les Miserable, Joseph, Jesus, Phantom of the opera, etc
