grga888.. what the hell are you talking about? SRV was incredible, no doubt. but objective facts speak louder than any man's opinion. if you're going to stoop to the level of pitting guitarists against each other, and determining the 'better' of them, then at least do it knowledgeably. By age 12 Joe was already playing SRV tunes note for note. Joe's technical prowess in the relatively broad category of 'blues' is unsurpassed. Nothing against SRV, but Joe deserves a fair shake

Hey people! What happens? Stop it who is better and enjoy the sound Nobody is better than one, each one has its own style and personality! Enjoy the music and do not compare!
-
saying that someone is better than someone, even tough both are world famous musicians and have totaly different aproaches in their playing is subjective an thus does not comply as a constructive conversation...
its like saying that bethoven is better than mozzart or the other way arround ...
Comparing two of the most different aproaches in guitar sound and thechnique is totaly absurd ...
One is single coil pickup treble sound the other is fat humbucker high gain , totaly different styles...

all this talk of who's better...SRV or joe bonamassa or hendrix or clapton...does it ACTUALLY matter...you all obviously listen to them all...just leave it and enjoy what joe does. by the way...Rory Gallagher is one of joe's biggest influences

@dikkedusen i agree

@js615 i disagree. I think Hendrix was way better than Clapton.
Hendrix = king of gods. Clapton is very skilled too, but not in the same way

Stevie was amazing, he still is. Same for Jimi, Clapton, and countless others. However, Joe is the new blood and is doing for the genre today what they did for it in their time. Joe is a future legend, there should be no competition.

And by the way to some of the above comments, it's not a matter of better, it's just different tastes and styles, you're talking about some of the bests... If it's about technicality well is it Eric Johnson, Shawn Lane, Simply different styles and just as fun to listen to...

Stevie was a giant and had a style of his own and he deserves a place in history but that does not take anything away from the great work of others. I do to loved SRV but I still get a kick of listening to these other guys as well, give them a try...

I love SRV just as much as anyone else... but from a technical standpoint, Joe Ba is much better than SRV. SRV can do some very nice rakes and stuff.. but Joe Ba has so much more up his sleeve that he can pull out. It does seem that SRV has more raw blues passion.. but they are both great in their own rights.
A great guitar player, but SRV was better.

I'm not so sure, technically speaking. He might have spoken to you more than Bonamassa does however, and I can respect that. He does that to me anyway (SRV)...

SRV was better. A fact. Tehnically he was more skilled and more precise, he was more passionate, had more soul and emotion. He was a better singer and a lot more talented generally. He had a better style as well. Bonamassa is very good but don't confuse it with being better somehow than SRV cause he is not even close to SRV. SRV is by far the best white electric blues/rock guitar player of all time.

Nothing that ever comes out of your immature and juvenile 16-year-old little mouth (Or fingers actually) is even remotely connected to facts. You're fanatic about SRV, and all your comments on youtube is colored by that. I've seen my share of your drivel and it gets tiring real fast.
Please move on and post your shit where somebody cares, because you obviously have no idea what the blues is about.

I think we can all agree to this: Clapton is God, Hendrix is King and SRV is sorely missed. Thanks to Joe B, John Mayer, Kenny Wayne and the others for carrying on the tradition.

I could not agree more.
