This slide show illustrates the process of building the Chipmunk fight simulator cockpit (simpit) for FS2004 (or FSX). Construction was done using basic materials available from any lumberyard or hardware shop.

The computer running this is about five years old, the base program is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9). I use Goflight modules that I purchased five years ago for the avionics, and also CH rudder pedals and throttle quadrant.

I hope this inspires you to consider building your own "simpit."

  • Thank you.... I prefer to think the real chipmunk aircraft, with its timeless design, is awesome. It inspired this creation .

  • This looked questionable at first, but what a finished result! Nice job man!

  • Awesome is over used, so this is very very very very very very cool!!!!!

I envy people with cockpits like this. My ones are usually cardboard which I have to throw away after a week.

    Anyway, HAPPY FLYING!
