@killerbumble well, maybe this will make a little more sense. i've been tutoring public school kids for two and a half years for 2 hours a week. every student i have had has been between 3-5 grade levels in every area of academics they have been tested in and after a year of tutoring i've always gotten them back on the appropriate grade work. when i'm tutoring a highschool student who is illiterate after 10 years in publics schools what conclusion can you come to other than a broken system.

As a retired public school teacher I am convinced that our only hope is to rescue our children from the public (government) schools and raise a godly generation.

@carultch .Oh yes there is an option, it is called "Allodial Title". If you can ever own your house,(and the land it sits on) then you do not pay property tax. No property tax...No Public

@carultch - Yes, but vouchers cure that by giving all children the same amount of tax money and allowing parents to send their child to the school of choice.

@bdragon660 - You don't understand what he said at all. He's talking about school vouchers, which means the schools don't get any money except through tuition, public or private. The point is competition through 100% school choice, not privatization.

For real information on school vouchers check out Reason TV on YouTube. Or look for videos and books by Milton Friedman who came up with the idea. I'll say this again, it's not about public or private, it's about competition and parental control.

Um...Actually, Finland is the exact OPPOSITE of what this video says They have pretty much ONLY public schools.

The problem is, you either send your kid to public school, or you send your kid to private school while simultaneously paying someone else's kid to go to public school.

There is no option of simply not supporting public schools.
