Planetside: 6 years, Werner Memorial.

Six years and 3 months, give or take. The time has come around, and as of today, this fantastic game will be taken down to a single server.

Of the five original servers, Markov, Johari, Konreid, Emerald and Werner, first Markov And Konreid were lost, leaving Markov, Emerald and Werner standing.
Much later, Markov and Emerald merged into Gemini, Leaving Werner the last standing.

Today, servers Gemini and Werner will be merged. We aren't sure what they will become.
But we are sure of a new beginning, for better or for worse.

The merger will breathe life into Planetside, atleast for now, and myabe it will draw new players in.
Regardless, I will still be playing and I will never forget Planetside.
Never.

R.I.P. Werner, and thankyou all to the Playerbase. Thankyou for six action-packed years, of the single best game EVER released!

This music really stirs the emotions after all these years. I wish I could go back in time and play it again sometimes. If they ever actually release a PlanetSide 2, I'll be on it so god damn fast.

I pulled this and the NC Sanctuary music from the program files back when I had the game and I still listen to them relatively often.

This video gave me the impetus to re-subscribe. Planetside is still a blast to play, but sadly there are a few hacker/cheaters playing now. Hopefully, Planetside 2 will give us the experience we enjoyed in 2003 :)

I know, it's great fun, but the Chinese players and cheaters infuriate me so much, it takes the fun right out pretty quick. What a shame :<

It's amazing how good the music in this game is. I never actually bought the game, but I played a lot in the trial. I remember when all 5 servers were active. Obviously they did the right thing closing down servers. I saw Werner at its final days. I was the only one in there, all alone in the world.

NC for life \m/ \m/ The only game I can ever remember where everyone who played it was - And usually still is- fanatical about their original faction. When Planetside Next comes out, the call will go out - The war is back on. Sign me UP! Even now, me and a couple of my RL friends will sit and regale each other with our PS war-stories now and again :) Oh, and just as a side note if SOE are listening - Please, God, let Jeremy Soule loose on the soundtrack. He would own with this.

Planetside proved to me what games are capable of--at it's best, it is phenomenal beyond words.

I truly hope Planetside 2 comes about, but we shouldn't get our hopes up. SOE's The Agency was much further in development than Planetside 2 is, yet it was still canned recently.
