Curious about how head tracking works in Gran Turismo 5? Good, because here is a video analysis explaining it all, investigating its actual usefulness as well as looking into how the PlayStation Eye performs as a head tracking device with specialized PC software.

  • @soccerisdabomb18

  • really amazing video, really helpful, thanks 4 that. I have question how did you make this trick with optimus helmet? i heard the autobots.com but how make it work at ps3? i want to try this cuz it looks funny :)

  • @sherman36able I didn't use the PS3. I just connected the PS Eye to the PC :)

  • Wait It only works in Time Trial or Drift for me??? How come it works with races in other cars for you?

  • @dec0y8 As explained in the video, in Beginners races it works right away. To make int work in Intermediate and Professional ones you have to disable the Tyre/Fuel depletion option.

  • I really like your analysis videos. Always precise information and very well made. Your PS-Move Videos were very helpfull and so is this. Thank you for all your work and Greeeetz from Germany!

  • @Alecridge And they do exactly the same thing, too. That's what so amazing about it.

  • Another big issue with this idea is that unlike how it works in reality, you have to keep looking at the same spot (your TV/monitor) with your eyes even when turning your face away. It'd be nice to have at least 120º-worth of monitor so you can keep looking "forward" with your eyes, making this application a bit more useful. I suppose in that case, face-tracking would no longer be "as" necessary because the view would just be extended with the extra monitor real-estate.

  • Nice video, thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the video i subsribed :)

  • LMFAO i just learned about this

only 30$ and kinect is like 100ish

  • gr8 work :D nice analysis. it looks like it creates a little confusion while cornering and looking through side window. :O

  • I had no idea about this until today! How awesome now my PS Eye finally has a use.

  • I just ordered a g27 and Playseat Evo and was whorishly looking for any other possible way to increase the level of immersion when play GT5. I was about to impulse buy the PS Eye but your in-depth review swayed my decision. Thank you for your honest opinion. HORSE APPLES!
