"Press The Eject And Give Me The Tape", The Old Vic, London, 24th February, 1982. From my old vinyl "freebie" that came with "The Sky's Gone Out". Remarkably good quality, considering the abuse it's had !

  • Oh I love this song soo much!!! Thanks Roddy! You're the best!

  • So you haven't heard this version before then ?

Sometimes I've posted something and said it's a rare version, then been deluged with fans saying they've all got it !

  • Wow! Best version of this song I've heard yet

  • As I said somewhere, I don't usually like long songs, but I do make the odd exception.

I'm more of a Ramones 1-2-3-4 in one minute 25 seconds person !

  • Thanks for posting this! They really do sound great here. This is such a classic song, a huge personal favorite of mine. I continually resist those abroad in the land who'd like to pin a big "cliche" label on it. Just because it's been used in all of these film & TV scores, that doesn't mean it has lost its edge. There's nothing cliche about greatness, not ever. That being said, I'm looking for another song to use for my up-coming Bela Lugosi vid, only because this would be too obvious a choice.

  • BAH! MANSON! He took something original and popularized it

and just watered Goth down. Goth used to be about the music, now its just thought of as a "dress to scare" sort of deal
