dude i have those pedals too..i hate them..haha and you should put a pillow or something in your bass drum it would probably make it sound really good... :D haha

the floortoms dont have to be on one side. alot of people play left floor toms
theres no way you "have to" set your kit. the only requirements are to have reasonable tom angles

get better cymbals, tune ur bass drum, and get floor toms on one side

yea he has shitty heads and cymbals and he didnt tune them correctly

there are many online drum tuning tutorials. I personally found that these drums like to be tuned very high. the wood is amazingly dense. If you still cant get a good sound I suggest taking off the head and looking at the tension ring to make sure there aren't any kicks or cracks or bumps. Also possible shell warping may have occurred. however, If you bought them from a reputable dealer I highly doubt this is the case.
