@bikebum Uh......the corporation, the investor and the broker all lined their pockets with what used to go to the worker. Untenable you say ????? Tell that to the Germans with a 66% of pay pension plan that all workers have. The Germans with 85 million people are neck and neck in production with the Chinese that have 1.350 billion people. Free market economics is bullshit.

@rickbar123 Uh... no, investors and brokers did not take defined benefit pension plans. Corporations realized that defined benefit was untenable in the long term. Yes, the reason it was untenable was because corporations were fleecing retirement accounts and the FED made laws to stop corporations from fleecing the plans. Note that the FED exempted themselves. However, investors and brokers didn't actually play the role you are implying it was the worker's employers.

@bikebum "Willingly". REALLY !! Try - The investor class jacked the American workers pensions to a point that most young people in America don't even know what a defined pension is. I have a few bucks in a 401k, it is a joke. I have a few bucks in a Roth, another joke. I would trade both right now for a job with a defined plan. But wait, the jobs that had pensions are now in China or Mexico. Spare me the right wing rewrite of history. Back to the Rush show.
