pretty neat, but how does the drill run when its plugged into the gfci outlet

The flow is staying contained until Spiderman (he is grounded) decides to touch the water. When Spiderman touches the water the GFCI recognizes that the flow is heading towards something new (Spiderman). That's when it shuts off.
