I love my manfrotto monopod! I find it's the best tool for real run and gun videographers lol. I remember a video gig in Orlando, where i used my monopod, exclusively, 7 days straight and did the job. Albeit, i'm still pretty new to all this. Just been 1 year since i've been doing videography professionally.

I agree with dromakid, having the monopod at an angle rather than vertical further helps stablization. Also works well when shooting close to the ground. You can almost lean into the monopod.

hay u are risking to through the camera in wather lol
Setting the camera to the side of the monopod in order to lower its center of gravity is the greatest tip I've ever heard on monopods. It drastically helped reduce my shake even further. Thanks a lot!

Juan,
Thanks for tips which I will use but one thing I found was that it is difficult to keep the camera steady if the monopod is vertical so I set mine like the third leg of a tripod at an angle and this steadies it a lot more for me. I am 70 years old so maybe this is only a tip for old geezers!
