May s4 of Merlin (which is just a week away! Soo excited!!) bring on a King coronation scene for Arthur! I'm so tired to always have to use 1x09 clips with that not-at-all-kingly crown for it :D

First, I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to my friends and 370+ subscribers...I would've never thought to go this far, but here I am, and all thanks to your support which always warms the heart and makes me want to keep and try improving in vidding :) love you guys! Sorry I wasn't much active in the past months (those were holiday reasons xD), and unfortunately I'm not gonna be this year either, because it's my last and most difficult year of high school and I need to concentrate on it and on preparing my final exams (and I think I just failed a test yesterday -.-)...I definitely won't stop vidding though, I'll probably just be slower with my personal projects :)
I've been working on this idea since the 2nd half of June, so I'm particularly happy to have finally finished this video! [Lauren dear, it's still not your b-day one, but that one's in the making too, it just takes some time ^_^] There are a couple of glitches I couldn't fix, damn them! The historical periods of the film and the series are completely different, but I think it isn't too evident, you'll tell me though! ;) If you know me you probably already know that I love these two fandoms to death, so when I accidentally came to confront 1x11 Merlin labyrinth scenes with Pan's Labyrinth's ones, I couldn't resist crossing them =)

{End of usual random rambling and start of actual plot xD}
While on a hunting trip, Arthur and Merlin find a mysterious girl, Ofelia, wandering frightened in the woods all covered with dirt, and take her along with them to Camelot, offering her shelter. The girl becomes close to Gwen and most of all to Merlin, who discovers in her another one of the magic kind when he sees her transforming a strange bug into a beautiful fairy. However, Ofelia hides a secret much more threatening than her just being magical: she's really under the control of the Faun, an evil magical creature who lives in a hidden labyrinth and wants to use the girl to get revenge on Uther for persecuting his kind. Merlin finds out, but is discovered as well and knocked out while the girl is sent to kill the King using the mandrake root's magic. When he wakes and runs to Camelot again, he's too late: Uther's already dead. He finds the Faun visiting Ofelia's chambers to congratulate her about doing her part well, and in rage he orders him to leave her alone, and casts a powerful spell that manages to make the Faun disappear. The little girl is in pain and remorseful for her terrible actions; Merlin understands though that she didn't act on her own will, and tells her that now she's free, and he will protect her.
Time pass, and Arthur and Gwen become the new King and Queen, and have a baby son. Everything seems to have gone for the best, but one night the Faun appears again to haunt Ofelia, not having had enough of revenge, and forces her to steal the little prince and taking him to the labyrinth; Merlin finds himself on the run again to try to set things right and save his friend, but this time things have gone too far...

I can't believe myself for making this ending happen! =S

Songs: Bittersweet Dreams, Connection and Last Chance by Brand X Music
Clips: Merlin BBC s.1-3, Pan's Labyrinth

*Quotes*
Merlin: "We rescued her in the woods."
Gwen: "I'll stay with her."
Gwen: "I knew it. I said you'd be alright."
Merlin: "I didn't mean to frighten you. I know what it's like to keep secrets..."
Ofelia: "Hello."
Faun: "How kind of you to pay me a visit... You must play your part well."
Arthur: "Father! ...What's wrong with him?"
Merlin: "Go! Leave!"
Merlin: "I'm going to look after you, I promise. You're safe now."
Merlin: "We're heading for a new time."
Arthur: "For the sacred laws vested in me, I pronounce you Guinevere, Queen of Camelot."
Faun: "You can bring me the Pendragon boy."
Ofelia: "I can't!"
Faun: "I don't care how you do it, all I care is that it is done!"
Faun: "You will bring him here!"
Ofelia: "No!"
Merlin: "Arthur, no!"

Note: Pan's Labyrinth is a Spanish film, and it hasn't been dubbed in English; so for the Faun's and Ofelia's voices I used some pitched audio clips of King Cenred (from Merlin) and Padmé (from Star Wars) =)

I own only the invented plot and the editing :)

  • Oh, I absolutely adored this! Pan Labyrinth is one of my most favorite films and to have it paired with one of my favorite tv series is amazing. I think the voiceovers and manips were incredible and for a minute, I forgot that it wasn't even an English movie.

  • @IrisRainbow Wow, your comment makes my day :):):) thank you!!! It’s great to share some love for Pan’s Labyrinth around =) I am also so glad you found the voiceovers believable because I was particularly nervous about them, but it seems they are working. yay! :)

  • That was amazing!

  • @kyriethika thank you!! :)

  • That was beautiful! I especially love Merlin and Ofelia's blooming relationship, almost like an older brother looking after his little sister. It's just so sweet! Beautiful crossover!

  • @FantasmaLuna sorry for late replying ^_^ thanks for your lovely comment! I hope I can make something lighter with these two in the future :)

  • @angelwolfchild16 late late reply! Sorry about this :D but I really wanted to thank you for your most kind comment! It was really appreciated, no waste of time at all :)

and I'm so glad that there's someone else loving Pan's Labyrinth out there <3 this film is so underrated it hurts!

  • That was quite possibly the most incredible thing I have ever seen here on youtube! I've been desperate to see more Pan's Labyrinth crossovers and this is definately the best one so far. I love how you matched the clips together and I can't believe you actually made the Faun evil! How did you do that? I could follow the story just by watching and the editing was incredible!

Now before I waste anymore of your time I'm going to stop. Brilliant job, I hope to see more like this in the future. :D

  • That was fantastic

  • Very creative! I loved it :)
