Poor Unfortunate Souls: Chapter 20

RECAP-- Jason, Heather, and Nick are unbelievably upset.

Nick's POV:

I woke up and texted Heather.

Nick-- Good morning. :]

Heather-- Good morning. What time do you want me to come over?

Nick-- How about 12?

Heather-- Sounds good.

We stopped talking and I got up to get ready. I walked down the hall, I noticed the bathroom door was shut. I knocked.

Joe-- What?

Nick-- I need to get ready. So you need to get out!

Joe-- Well, I'm getting ready.

Nick-- Well I need to shower. What are you doing?

Joe-- I am getting dressed.

He walked out in jeans and no shirt.

Nick-- Ugh. Nevermind go cover up.

Joe-- You just jealous, you little girl friend Heather will be like "Wow your brother is so much hotter."?

Nick-- Shes not my girlfriend, and there is NO chance of that.

I moved quickly past him and slammed the bathroom door.

Nick-- HA!

Joe-- You better not come out because when you do...you won't live much longer.

Nick-- Yeah I'm sure.

I got a shower, and as I went to leave to go to my room to get my clothes I thought about Joe's threat. At first I didn't take it seriously, but then I remembered then time when he 'accidently' pushed Kevin out if the moving bus because he used his comb. I decided to make a run for it. I opened the door a little and ran into my room. I made safely. I got dressed in a tee shirt and faded ripped jeans. As I left my room Joe tackled me in the hall.

Joe-- KARMA IS A BITCH!

He put me in a head lock. Then Kevin came upstairs.

Kevin-- Sure I get pushed off a bus and he gets a head lock. Thats not fair.

But instead of helping me like a loving brother, he just walked past us and went into his room.

Joe-- That sucks.

Nick-- Can you please just let go of me.

I started pulling away.

Joe-- Admitt it!

Nick-- What the hell are you talking about.

Joe-- I am stronger and better all around.

Nick-- Stronger yes. When it comes to brains I clearly win.

I slipped away and ran in my room slamming and locking the door. Joe didn't seem to some after me he just, backed off. I looked at the clock, it was 11:45 and my doorbell rang. Great she was early. I ran to get the door. When I answered it, Heather was standing there in black skinny jeans, converse, a red and black tee, and of course drum sticks in her pocket.

Heather-- Hey.

Nick-- Hey. Come in.

I led her upstairs to my room, which I cleaned, my laptop was already on my bed now I needed to get Joe's.

Heather's POV:

We went into his room, and I sat on his bed, his room was really clean.

Nick-- Uh, I will be right back, I need to get Joe's laptop.

Heather-- Alright.

He left the room and a minute later I heard a crash and something break.

Nick-- Ow Joe! I am just borrowing it! I need it for school Heather is here.

Joe-- Fine but you where warned.

He came back in a minute later.

Nick-- Alright got it.

Heather-- That sounded easy.

Nick-- No sweat.

He laid on his bed on Joe's laptop, and I sat on the floor with his. I took my drum sticks out of my pocket, and started tapping on the hard wood floor of his room as I read. Next thing I know Nick stole them from me and was laughing.

Heather-- HEY! Those are mine!

Nick-- Oh really?

He started spinning them.

Heather-- Yeah!

I stood up reaching for them.

Nick-- Nope.

He was taller so all he had to do was reach his arm up high.

Heather-- Unfair avantage!

Nick-- No just skill.

I jumped up at him and knocked him over onto the bed. I was now fighting him for my drum sticks. Then Kevin walked in.

Kevin-- Hey guy Grace is coming to teach--

He stopped when he saw me and Nick on the bed fighting for the drum sticks and misunderstood it for something else.

Kevin-- Whoa, my bad I will knock next time.

He turned to walk out when Nick called his name.

Nick-- Kevin, no, she was just trying to get her drumsticks.

He handed me the sticks, and I blushed.

Kevin-- Okay?

Nick-- What where you saying.

Kevin-- Grace is coming over to teach me some cooking--

Nick-- THANK GOD! Remind me to give her a hug!

Kevin-- HA HA! And she is making lunch you guys want some?

Nick-- Sure.

Heather-- Sure.

Kevin-- Okay bye.

Clearly he still felt akward. After he left we went back to research. When I blurted it out.
