  • There is a great National Geographic article about real Kung Fu temples and forms of combat. They don't use it for show, or competition, but there have been instances where they have certainly had to use their techniques in self defense. One of the subjects of the article even fought off and killed an assassination squad that attacked him at his own mountain temple. Its amazing what you can do when you devote your whole life to physical training.

  • Wow... that guy is like water.

  • Well a fights outcome would always be determined by the better strategist and luck... so who knows?

  • @YourTheBlame2 technically, any martial arts is self defence. It is not like they tell you to go outside and start beating up random people.

Make no mistake, I like how Kung Fu looks, I like the idea behind it, but pitting a Kung Fu master v a Muay Thai master, my bet's on Muay Thai.

  • The power of the mind, and the strength of your body.combined create a powerfull weapon.....

  • @Piisuke You're right that it has never proven itself in martial arts competitions. However, it doesn't need to. Like you said, it looks fantastic. Ancient Chinese Kung Fu was not about defeating your opponent in a battle, but more a form of art. It's a way of life. The original Shaolin monks who created this form of art had absolutely no intention of using it as a physical competition or actual fighting.

  • @Piisuke how many people have u seen go to train with a REAL kung fu master for years then got to UFC. you cant learn kung fu at a gym. what they teach in these gyms is basics and beijing opera stuff.

  • @mmaandrew13 It is indeed a problem that Kung Fu has never really proven itself in martial arts competitions. It looks fantastic, but I have yet to see an actual Kung Fu practitioner dominate a competition. Muay Thai is something that's proven to be deadly.

  • how bout you throw your punch slower next time. no offense to kung fu practitioners i think its great you're involved in a martial art but how about you pick a real one like muay thai and jiu jitsu
