Test Drive Le Mans, 2000 (Dreamcast)

One of the finest racing games to ever grace a console. It's a perfect blend of arcade and simulation with infinite replay value. There are lots of cars to unlock, time attack mode, etc.

What stands out most is the incredible AI in expert mode. The subtle change in weather, time of day as well as special effects (glowing brakes, contrails seen on the rear wing at high speeds) is worth noting. It's also one of the few racing games that incorporate tire wear and fuel level to add realism, depth and strategy.

This is me playing championship mode under Pro GT category. Anyone who's played on expert mode will quickly realise how difficult it is to win first place. Other cars will always keep you on your toes. And although rivals are fierce and you'll be having many grueling battles, the computer is always fair. That said, keep practicing and you'll earn your place.
