  • wich album is this from?

  • Something In The Night by Bruce Springsteen From the Album "Darkness On The Edge Of Town "... Sold by SONY BMG Music Entertainment.

  • boss is 59 today, as the local rock station is currently playing Jungleland in honor.

  • Well I'm riding towards J'ville figuring I'll get a drink. Well I turn the radio up loud so I don't have to think (at all). And I take her to the floor looking for a moment when the world feels rights. And I tear into the guts, hmmmmmm, something in the night.

  • Bruce wrote this in his 20's. I finally get it, and I'm forty.

    A true icon.

  • I know. right? I listen to this song & I turn the radio up loud so I won't have to think, driving down highway 17 in the country, without another human being in sight, I feel the need to take it to the floor, looking for a moment when the world seems right.

I guess I'm chasing something in the night.

  • what is it with his music? I mean you can hear a song for a long time and know its good then one day you really hear it and you get it. if just for yourself you really get it.

  • This song is so fuking underrated. I love bruce to death and as a 20 year old college kid, cruising around with my buddy late at night inthe summer.. We blast the Darkness album after partying all day to Born To Run.. And when this song comes on..

    wow.

  • Bruce, you mean so much to me.

This one and point blank and backstreets and nothing man and ... Oh man, can't stop.

  • @UnTechWHV sometimes there is just a certain point in ones life when something just suddenly makes sense! Bruce takes you through so many phases of growing up with his music and lyrics... he's the best parental figure next to our own and the best storyteller of all time Bruuuuuce forever <3

  • You're born with nothin and better off that way!

  • @tommunz Funny thing it all makes sense <3 And so very true i finally get it too and i'm 47 <3

  • "You're born with nothing, and better off that way.

Soon as you got something they send someone to try to take it away"

  • I´m deeply embarrassed to have skipped this song for many years before I really listened to it with full attention. What have I missed until this moment! One of the strongest songs ever. Such powerful lyrics...

I´ve just uploaded a video of a friend and me playing this song. We don´t try to imitate the original version (which no one can) but to play it completely different only with guitar and nyckelharpa (a key fiddle). Maybe some of you might like to listen to it.

  • Oh my God, I assumed this was going to be a recent live version, I guess b/c of the thumbnail photograph & b/c he's begun to bring out some of the older stuff again. So i was surprised when I heard the album version's beautiful beginning & surprised that I almost started to cry. I have no idea when I last listened to this song, but I listened to this album endlessly the year that it was released. The only reason I lifted this album off the record player was to flip it over to the other side.

  • Bruce's best! What a great song, Yesterday today and tomorrow. Every time I listen to it it's like I'm hearing it for the first time

  • Best tune on springsteen's best album

  • Nothing is forgotten or forgiven when it's your last time around.
