@raultalbot7 Did they go blind before they died? (Yeah I know you are joking)
I saw some idiot on animal cops who tried to make her cats vegetarian, most were losing their vision, one was near completely blind. In short, cats should not be vegan or vegetarian. They are not omnivores, they are carnivores.
Natures Recipe makes a veg formula, good price, healthy and you can find it locally at Pet Smart. Keep it on the shelves for others, support it locally. I know V-Dog and Wysong have some online.
I know that that they are omnivores but can be healthy as herbs. If a animal cannot be veg (ie: snake) they should not be a pet and hunt naturally and nicer than factory farmed leftover crap.

At least I don't give any puppy food to my dog. You know, that if you give puppy food to an adult dog is not good for the dog. Ok. We are getting closer. You looked up ingredients of a special puppy food. Now you can either look up the ingredients of the standard food, or read it below (Very hard job to do). BTW I am moving on I am at the moment reading standard literature about digestion, minerals a.s.o.
@greenwoodonearth I don't know where you shop for dog food. But I'm reading the ingredients of
Pedigree Little Champions. First words: Grilled Flavors In Sauce W/ Beef Ingredients: Sufficient Water For Processing, Chicken (Source Of Linoleic Acid), Meat By Products, Beef, Wheat Gluten, Wheat Flour, Liver, Natural Flavors, Starch... Meat byproducts are not meat. However, I'm not saying I'd feed any dog this crap. I'm making the point there isn't only 4% of meat in theses bags of dog food
1st think, then talk. I have a dog for 3 years now. I help many people raising their dog. Most selling dry food: "pedigree". 1st three ingredients:
1. Ground Whole Corn
2. Meat and Bone Meal
3. Corn Gluten Meal
You probably know what the meat and bone meal (maybe better bone meal) is all about. Don't you? I would never feed this brand to my dog. But! All this food out of mass production contains a lot of plantbased nutrition. All these brands have about 4% meat in them, brother.
@greenwoodonearth Nice grammar. Stop trying to think you know something. you know nothing.
''...in usual industrial dry-food for dogs there is a max. of 4% meat in it.'' You are wrong, Meat is usually the first or second ingredient in the list of ingredients of most top selling dry dog foods. you fail!!! But, that doesn't mean that it makes dry dog food healthy? I say this because most of the fillers are foods and other crap not normally part of any dog's diet such as corn, soybeans, etc.
If you suddenly know what dogs think, you could revolutionize ethology. I like the stories about the wolfes, but they don't wear any ledges, nor do they lik on people that pass by or did you ever see a wolve doing that. Then you maybe also saw wolves jumping up to humans and waving their tail.
Further in usual industrial dry-food for dogs there is a max. of 4% meat in it. But mostly this ingredients are only hairs or similar. What's the rest then? Right: 96% veggi food.
Vegetarian dog food? I feel sorry for these defenseless dogs with stupid owners like these. Just stupid. dogs are preferential carnivores. What do you things wolves eat in the woods and forests, blueberries, butterflies, grass, and leaves. No, actually because berries. They sometime eat grass, but is never digested, it just right through them. Berries can be toxic to dogs. Your products should be outlawed !!!
Well I am a vegan and I plan on feeding my dog a vegan diet but Dog's are not omnivores. Sure, any animal is capable of eating plant based froods rather than meat based foods and so we can use those terms colloquilly but in the wild wolves do not use plant based foods for sustenance. The real argument against "dogs are natural carnivores" is the fact that dog food is such a highly processed food anyway that it isn't any different as long as their nutritional needs are met.
