Our first trip to Moab after getting the Jeep finished. The Jeep is still running the stock 2.5L 4 banger, but has full width dana 60's w/ 4.88's and ARB's, Atlas II transfer case, 37" Coopers, and Fox coilovers on all 4 corners with a 4 link out back and a 3 link in the front.. Since this video was made, the wheelbase has been stretched, 'race' seats and proper belts swapped in, hydraulic ram steering assist added, and a fuel cell was installed.

  • Thats bad ass i got a 2000 4 banger my self and im only running 33's. Looks like it's street legal, what does it top out at on the highway? have you modified the engine at all?

  • @tylergboaz1992

Engine was bone stock, aside from a throttle body spacer. Top speed is unknown, it hasn't really been driven on the road since the work was done. It's technically street legal (has a license plate) but would never pass a legit inspection.

5th gear is useless in high range. Low range however, you can take off from a dead stop in 5th and do maybe 10-15 mph.

  • how much did you pay for your dana 60s if you dont mind me asking? Im thinking about getting a 2.5l just because they are easier to find and much cheaper, but i want to do what you did and put dana 60s under neath and 4.88 gears. Im just trying to get an idea on how much this is going to cost me.

  • @JonathanGuenther IIRC, it was approx. $5k all said and done. That was including the ARB's, gears, 35 spline axles, and disc brake setup.

  • Nice setup - flexes well... What did you air down to? Looks like your sidewalls are still pretty stiff...

  • Only running at 8 psi.

  • good video but if you like your left hand, keep it in the vehicle!! i've seen too many people lose hands and figures by holding onto the rollcage and rockers!

  • sick coilovers
